• 7-27-04 Digitization for Preservation of the David Edelberg Handel LP Collection began.
• 7-20-04 Procedures for digitizing the David Edelberg Handel LP Collection being reviewed.
• 7-13-04 The workflow management system to digitize the David Edelberg Handel LP Collection was finalized.

• 3-15-04 Prof. Ichiro Fujinaga was awarded the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) New Opportunities Fund, valued at $597,748. The title of the five-year project is: Distributed Digital Music Archives and Libraries.

• 11-24-03 The 78 RPM Restoration Pre-Amplifier and has been set up. The VPI Aries Turntable was tested.

• 10-23-03 The VPI Aries Turntable and the HW-17F Professional Record Cleaning Machine have arrived.

• 9-29-03 Apple G4 has been reformatted and Mac OS X is installed on the SCSI hard discs.
• 9-08-03 The Epson 1640xl Graphic Arts scanner has arrived for scanning the album covers of 78rpm phonograph records.
• 9-03-03 Equipment has been moved into the lab.

Aug 2003

• 8-19-03 Two large monitors are ordered so that scanned images can be closely inspected during software development.
• 8-19-03 A large-format Epson 1640xl Graphic Arts scanner is ordered for scanting the album covers of 78rpm phonograph records.
• 8-12-03 The latest version of Greenstone installed.
• 8-01-03 Richard M. Tomlinson Digital Library Innovation Awards, a total of CND $15,198, is awarded on digitization of Edelberg Handel collection.

July 2003

• 7-29-03 Metadata standards research begins.

April 2003

• 4-01-03 FQRSC (Fonds de Recherche sur la Societe et la Culture, Etablissement de nouveaux-chercheurs volet individual), a total of CDN $64,628, is awarded on "Digitization of vinyl phonograph records with automatic generation of text and metadata."

Feb 2003

• 2-07-03 The McGill Research Development Grant (2003), a total of CND $38,500, is awarded on "Distributed Digital Music Library."
